Before you share your story..

let me tell you mine

W E L C O M E

I'm Abby, a Birth & Postpartum Doula (DONA) serving families in and around Tulare County. I spent a few years in college before deciding to change directions altogether, and become a doula. The world of birth work was introduced to me about 7 years ago by my friend, Olivia, who had just found out that she was expecting her first child. She asked me to be one of her support people through labor and birth, but I was initially quite hesitant. As someone who had no interest in ever being pregnant, giving birth, or being a mother, this role seemed far too vast for me to fill. Nonetheless, Olivia believed in me, and I really wanted to be there for her during such a precious time in life.

Throughout Olivia's pregnancy, I tried to learn as much as I could about how to support women through childbirth. Months later, I joined Olivia's side as she birthed her beautiful baby girl, and it wasn't long before I found myself thinking, "Wow, I wish I could do this every day!". However, it would still remain what seemed to be an unattainable dream in the back of my mind as I continued my university studies.

Fast forward a few years - here I am, a Birth and Postpartum Doula! I have been so blessed as I've joined the community of birth workers all around the world, and reached a place that never seemed possible before. I have now had the privilege to support many families through the tender moments of birth and postpartum. To say that I love my job would be an understatement, because I truly believe I have the best job in the world. Birth work is special and fulfilling in every way, and my heart has been forever transformed by the experiences created with all of my wonderful families.
